Hotel Metropole

Wilhelmstraße 12

The building which today houses the shops Konditorei Kunder and Teppich Michel was put up during the late Historicism building phase in Wilhelmstraße. Around 1900, the building was built as Café Hohenzollern with neo-Baroque facades and cupolas. Soon afterwards the brothers Beckel purchased the building and integrated it into the adjacent hotel Metropole. The large cupola still dominates Wilhelmstraße today and adds to the avenue's splendid appearance.
