The church of St Peter and St Paul, built in the years 1730 to 1732, is the only late Baroque fresco church in Hesse. The frescos were created by Johann Baptist Enderle in 1775. Accumulated layers of paint and dirt have been removed in recent years so that the original colours are now visible.

The paintings show the Calling, the Profession of Faith and the goal of the lives of both Peter and Paul, the patron saints of this church. Free tours are available at 3.30 p.m. on Sundays during the summer months and on request. The church is the landmark of the city of Hochheim am Main, which is famous for its wine and sparkling wine; it is located on the slope facing the vineyards.
