Summer Theatre Festival
The Sommerfestspiele Wiesbaden take place at the beginning of the holidays in the Burg Sonnenberg every year. Three weeks of open-air theatre in a unique setting in front of the chapel tower in the mediaeval castle garden. Children’s theatre from "Pinocchio" to "Pippi Longstocking" as well as stage classics such as "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" or "Die Drei von der Tankstelle" (The three from the filling station) attracted audiences to the 12th century venue.
In 2014, the artistic directors and married couple, Susanne Müller and Wolfgang Vielsack, set up the Sommerfestspiele Wiesbaden which is now known far beyond the city limits.
