Wilhelmstrassenfest – Street Festival

This classic street festival is still a crowdpleaser after more than 30 successful years. The Wilhelmstraße will once again transform itself into a festival zone on Friday and Saturday, 1st and 2nd June 2012.
For the 35th time celebrations will be held on Wilhelmstraße as well as on the Bowling Green in front of the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, the Warmen Damm and on Burgstraße with music, show and culinary delights.
In addition to a colourful music programme on four stages with music and activity areas, jugglers, comedians and street musicians will take care of entertaining the guests. The popular handcrafts market with around 140 booths is a further highlight of the Wilhelmstraßenfest, offering visitors selected and original pieces of art including designer jewellery, accessories, pictures and much more.
New this year – the European Gourmet Market
New to the Wilhelmstraßenfest, which was initiated for the reopening of the then renovated Hessian State Theatre in 1977, is the European Gourmet Market. From Belgian pralines to French cheese delicacies, it has everything on offer to warm the heart of the gourmet.
Opening at 4 p.m. on 1st June on the Bowling Green
The 35th Wilhelmstraßenfest will be opened as always on the Bowling Green on 1st June at 4 p.m. Wiesbaden dancing schools and street entertainers will accompany the opening ceremony.
