Biebrich’s partner community Glarus offers plenty of choices for leisure activities and interesting excursions. Especially nature lovers will find anything their heart desires in Glarus.
One of the most recommended excursion destinations is “Klöntalersee”, a great place to hike and cool off in the summer. Various tours for mountain bikers and leisure cyclists, a hike along the Glarner Industrial Trail, or a gondola ride on the “Aeugstenbahn” offer lots of ways to explore the community with its different districts and sights.
The cultural side of Glarus is just as multi-faceted. All summer, there are regular concerts, open-air events, and film performances on “Rathausplatz” or in the “Volksgarten”.
Furthermore, Glarus offers a multitude of markets all year round, such as the weekly market, the annual “Landsgemeindemarkt“, and of course a Christmas Market at the end of the year.
