New Year’s Eve at the Kurhaus
Once again the Kurhaus was an extraordinary location to celebrate New Year's Eve.
The party in the Kurhaus was one of the last big dates in the old year for many local Wiesbaden people and guests of the city. The Kurhaus opened its doors and salons once again in 2016 to invite the young and the old to ring in the New Year together!
Befitting the occasion, the evening began with a sparkling wine reception in the magnificent foyer at 8 p.m. The ten salons then offered a colourful programme whitch invited the guests to stroll from room to room, to linger, dance and celebrate. The musical highlights included the infamous Nightbirds, the Blanc de Noir duo, the "Boppin’B" rock'n'roll band and the Latinas Kim Morales and Los Marcapasos. The disco with PRR-1 DJ Hardy was the absolute guarantee for a great atmosphere again this year. The guests could cool down in the winter garden which was transformed into an "ice lounge" this year. Guests could enjoy the culinary side at the Käfer'S Kurhaus Gastronomy food buffet from 8 p.m. Even before midnight "Mondfeuer" illuminated the night sky around the Kurhaus with various fire elements and fire-eating – that was exciting.
When the corks pop at 12 and the New Year wishes were spoken, the guests could enjoy the colourful fireworks display accompanied by music in an especially reserved area in front of the Kurhaus shortly after midnight. After the light show in the sky, the New Year's festivities were going on until the early hours in the Kurhaus.
Celebrate with all the family – child-minding service
The child-minding service enabling parents to start the New Year with their children, which was tried out and gladly accepted by many parents the year before, was also on offer in 2016. Children aged from six to 14 could either spent the evening with their parents or with their peers at their own party including a colourful kids' disco with games and lots of fun. Professional child-minding and catering was provided so that the offspring could enjoy the New Year in the beautiful Kurhaus just like the "grown-ups".
The last day of the year 2016 were also be enjoyed with several-course menus. Whether in the Käfer'S bistro, in the Belétage of the Kurhaus, in the casino restaurant or in Christian-Zais-Saal, Käfer'S presented its guests a four- or five-course dinner. The dinner-tickets included the stroll through all the different rooms of the Kurhaus and the musical fireworks which Kurhaus guests could enjoy from a separate outside area.
Invigorated with culinary delicacies and special drinks from Käfer'S, guests could challenge Fortuna by trying their luck with black jack and roulette offered by the Spielbank Wiesbaden (casino) in the Ferdinand Hey'l Salon before the fireworks display is ignited in front of the Kurhaus just after midnight.
Tickets for the New Year's Eve party were available for 85 Euro including a catering voucher for 20 Euro and advance booking fees from the Wiesbaden Tourist Information or online at wiesbaden.de.
