Rheingau Music Festival
24 June 24 to 2 September 2017
The Rheingau Music Festival is one of Europe's largest music festivals, featuring more than 170 performances held in venues throughout the entire region between Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and the Middle Rhine Valley every year. Unique cultural monuments such as Kloster Eberbach abbey, Schloss Johannisberg castle, Schloss Vollrads castle, and the Wiesbaden Kurhaus as well as cosy wineries double as stages for concerts given by international star musicians in genres including classical music, jazz, cabaret, and world music.
There will be a special focus on the "Memories of Prades" chamber music series, on "Next Generation", "Dance!Music", and "Sound Expedition". Soprano singer Anna Lucia Richter, pianist Igor Levit, and jazz pianist Michael Wollny have been invited as festival focus artists guaranteeing singular concert experiences. A number of other distinguished artists and ensembles will contribute to the success of the 30th festival season.
