Detlev Bendel, Wiesbaden Economic Affairs Officer, welcomed all the local people and guests of the city visiting the Wine Festival 2018.

The fog is rising, the leaves are falling, pour the wine, the gracious,
we want give the clouds a silver lining. Theodor Storm (1817 - 1888)

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear guests of the Rheingau Wine Festival,

The state capital of Wiesbaden warmly invites you to the 43nd Rheingau Wine Festival. We are delighted that you will be celebrating with us from 10th to 19th August 2018 and enjoying the very special atmosphere of this festival.

The Rheingau Wine Festival, at which almost 100 vintners from Wiesbaden and the Rheingau serve their wines and sparkling wines, has its unique reputation for a good reason. Hardly any other wine festival has such an atmospheric ambience. Framed by the Altes Rathaus (old City Hall), Hessischer Landtag (local government building) in the former Stadtschloss (City Castle), the Marktkirche and the Rathaus (City Hall), there is a diverse wine bar that is second to none. In the middle of the wine landscape, there are stands to take care of your creature comforts. On the stages at the Rathaus and in front of the Marktkirche, there is a varied and entertaining music programme as there is on the stage at the Dern´sches Gelände. And lovers of good wine and sparkling wine get their money’s worth there too.

The ESWE Verkehr (urban transport) “Weinfest-Ticket” also promises enjoyment. It enables you to come to the festival at your ease and ensures that you make it home safely. Without the bother of looking for parking spaces.

We wish you a lovely time at the 43rd Rheingau Wine Festival. In a uniquely sociable and pleasant atmosphere. Enjoy yourself!
