In 1982, Günter Martin took over the winery that he still runs today with his wife, Jutta, also a master vintner. Son, Michael, a state certified oenology technician, has also been working in his parents’ business since 2006. Weinhof Martin cultivates some 10ha of vineyards today, of which two thirds are planted with white wine vines. Emphasis is on the Riesling typical of the Rheingau, but grapes with less acid such as Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Goldmuskateller are also grown. Pinot Noir in addition to Regent, Dornfelder and Cabernet Sauvignon dominate the remaining third of the vineyards. Günter and Michael Martin produce the wines of the family-run business in vineyards in Erbach and Kiedrich. The innovation of the junior and experience of the senior complement each other. The wines are marketed by selling directly via their own wine shop, through specialist trade, gastronomy and their own wine tavern. Weinhof Martin also has a stand at many wine festivals in the region.
