Nativity scene

The Christmas tree is not the only highlight every year – the nativity scene in front of the Christmas tree also attracts a lot of attention from visitors to the Twinkling Star Christmas Market.

The Christmas crib with its life-size figures made of wood is radiant in the pre-Christmas light. Every wooden figure including the Three Wise Kings, Mary and Joseph, Jesus, the camel and the donkey are unique hand-crafted pieces made by the Bremthal religious sculptor, Hans-Albert Herrmann, who has been continuously working on the figures since 1996. Hermann has invested around 240 working hours in the angel figure which has existed since 2009.

The figures are fetched from storage every year before Christmas and assembled with great care and effort and, of course, with the green plants. As wood works naturally, Mr. Herrmann maintains the wooden figures throughout the year so that they can delight all the children as well as adults every year.

And for those who wish to admire the wonderful figures without the Christmas hustle and bustle, the crib and the Christmas tree will remain in place until 7th January 2017.
