Adolfsallee

Adolfsallee and Adolfstraße connect Luisenplatz with Biebricher Allee (Biebrich Avenue).

It was planned in 1870 and is without doubt the most splendid of those streets running North to South across the city.

This is where deluxe apartment buildings were built for better-off entrepreneurs.

In the Federal Competition held in 1976-78 for exemplary achievements in the protection of historical sites in urban centres, the transformation, or rather restoration, of the Adolfsalle from a street with loud road traffic into a quiet residential area, was award a gold medal.
