Hessian State Orchestra

The "Hessian State Orchestra" is the most important factor in the city’s musical life. The State Orchestra is first-class and is conducted by General Music Conductor Marc Piollet, since the year 2004. Every year, the Orchestra presents seven symphony concerts in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden (Convention and Event Centre) and a concert with the Choir of the City of Wiesbaden. In addition to the milestones of classical and romantic concert literature, the programmes represent a link to younger pieces. Internationally renowned conductors and soloists appear as guests. In addition to the symphony concerts, the orchestra can be heard almost daily during opera and ballet performances in the Hessian State Theatre. Furthermore, the musicians of the orchestra also regularly give chamber concerts and concerts for children, young people and families.
