The choir was founded in 1969 and cultivates and disseminates the maritime tradition of choral singing and choral music, in particular the traditional traditional songs of seafaring (shanties). In addition to public relations work for the police, the choir supports social and charitable causes.

In addition to public relations work for the police, the choir supports social and charitable causes, but is also available for public appearances at charitable institutions and for other performances and concerts.
Members
The choir has 1st bass, 2nd bass, 1st tenor and 2nd tenor voices and performs its repertoire in up to four voices.
The choir is accompanied by accordion players and conducted by a female conductor or, in the event of a substitute, by a vice-conductor.
