22nd International Riding and Show Jumping Tournament 1958
On May 26, 1958, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, in his capacity as President of the International Equestrian Federation, and the President of the Main Association for the Breeding and Testing of German Horses signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden as patrons of the Whitsun Tournament.
Numerous celebrities such as the Soviet ambassador were among the thousands of visitors to the 22nd International Biebrich Riding and Driving Tournament.
The President of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, took the opportunity of his visit to the spa town to talk about his family history as well as equestrian sport.
At a reception in the town hall, Lord Mayor Mix emphasized the close connection between the houses of Nassau and Orange. He also thanked the FEI for the decision to have the renowned Grand Prix de Dressage staged by the Wiesbaden Riding and Driving Club as part of the Whitsun tournament this year.
For his part, Prince Bernhard described the Biebrich Palace Park as a worthy venue and thanked it on behalf of all the international participants for the excellent organization and reception. He then signed the city's Golden Book together with Hansen-Rosenthal, President of the Main Board for Breeding and Testing of German Horses and the German Equestrian Federation.
