Worth noting

Fritz Göttmann, a former Opel test driver, initiated the bond between the district and the community. Since the inception of the district partnership there have been many mutual visits among the citizens of Kostheim and St. Veit.

In addition to regular trips, the respective Fastnacht associations also have a friendly relationship with one another, as do the Kostheim choral society Harmonie and the Herzendorfer Singkreis of St. Veit.

On the occasion of the district partnership's ten year anniversary, the former twinning association Partnerschaftsverein Mainz-Kostheim – Sankt Veit organised a visit to St. Veit. Since the dissolution of the twinning association in 2003, that maintained the relationship between Kostheim and St. Veit (from 1997 to 2003), Kostheim’s mayor has been the contact person for the twinning.
