The third Saturday of every month is a very special day for art and flea market enthusiasts, because that’s when the street “Am Parkfeld” in Biebrich transforms into a large flea market where useful items, works of art, and the occasional quirky rarity find new owners. If you’d like to part with ceramics, books, paintings, or clothing and sell them, this is also the place to be.

Flea market in the slaughterhouse
Giving things a new lease on life, recycling with love, haggling, rummaging, strolling, feasting, and buying and selling this and that over the folding table: The flea market is an integral part of the Schlachthof universe, sending a cheerful message against the throwaway society and in favor of the social cycle of things. This pop-up secondhand paradise is surrounded by food trucks and the imaginative program of KULTUR im PARK.

This market is sure to delight any flea market enthusiast! For over ten years now, it has been known far beyond the borders of Hesse, attracting collectors and bargain hunters month after month from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, all over Germany, and, of course, Wiesbaden.

- At the “Fast wie neu” (opens in a new tab) secondhand store, you can browse a truly wide selection of items—from furniture and electronics to clothing and books. Do you have something to donate? Donations are accepted Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

- At the lovingly run DELANO’s lifestyle & second hand (opens in a new tab) on Webergasse, you’ll find well-maintained clothing, shoes, bags—some of them brand-name items—and everything looks like new!

Books
- A 60-square-meter bookstore in the multicultural neighborhood of Michelsberg: At Zweitbuch, (opens in a new tab) you’ll find a wide selection of books at affordable prices.
- The Wiederspahn Antiquarian Bookshop (opens in a new tab) on Webergasse is a little treasure trove of antiquarian books—well-organized, great prices, and friendly, helpful staff!
- At the Bücherbasar Kastel, (opens in a new tab) a uniquely large selection of used books, records, and other media awaits you across 350 square meters. The selection includes classic and modern literature, fiction, crime novels, and children’s books, as well as non-fiction, art and illustrated books, audiobooks, cookbooks, academic literature, and encyclopedias—plus plenty of DVDs, CDs, records, comics, and games.
- You can drop off books you’ve finished reading and find new ones at the two book exchange stations at Villa Clementine (opens in a new tab): in the Blue Salon and in the villa’s garden. The garden is open during the day, and you can browse in the Blue Salon during events and on Open Saturdays and Sundays (opens in a new tab) between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
