Day of the open Kurhaus organ

On selected dates from 1 p.m., you have the opportunity to experience the otherwise hidden Kurhaus organ live. Admission is free.

The association’s organists, including Evert Groen, Thomas Schermuly, and others, will demonstrate the instrument through a performance. The door to the organ chamber will be open, allowing visitors to see and hear the Kurhaus organ from the inside. The guided tours will be led by curator Friedhelm Gerecke and Elmar Heimes.

Day of the open Kurhaus organ - annual program 2026

On select dates starting at 1:00 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to experience the Kurhaus organ in Wiesbaden live—an instrument that is otherwise hidden from view. Admission is free.

The association’s organists—including Evert Groen and Thomas Schermuly—will present the instrument through music. At the same time, the door to the organ chamber will be open, giving visitors a rare glimpse inside the organ.
The tours will be led by curator Friedhelm Gerecke and Elmar Heimes.

The Thiersch Hall is open starting at 1:00 p.m. Half-hour guided tours of the organ will alternate with 30-minute concerts. The first concert begins at 1:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to join at any time.

  • May 1 (Labor Day), starting at 4 p.m.:
    Ioan Salaru (organ, age 13) and Anna Salaru (violin, age 16) will perform works by Mozart, Liszt, Reger, Gardonyi, Rheinberger, Hakim, and others.
  • May 14 (Ascension Day), starting at 4 p.m.
    Viola Förster (mezzo-soprano) sings, accompanied by Roman Förster (organ).
  • May 25 (Whit Monday), starting at 4 p.m.:
    Organ concert with Roman Bär.
  • June 4 (Corpus Christi)
