Richard Wagner and his work are the focus of this special evening in the magnificent setting of the Kurhaus Wiesbaden. In Wagner zu Dritt, grand opera and intelligent humor come together - presented by world-class tenor Klaus Florian Vogt and the brilliant entertainer Harald Schmidt.
Klaus Florian Vogt, celebrated Wagner interpreter at international opera houses from Bayreuth to New York, brings excerpts from works such as Lohengrin, Parsifal, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Siegfried to the stage live with his unmistakable voice. He is accompanied on the piano by the renowned pianist Jobst Schneiderat.
Between the musical performances, Harald Schmidt and Klaus Florian Vogt talk about the peculiarities, absurdities and genius of Wagner - clever, pointed and guaranteed to be irreverent. In doing so, they achieve a fine balancing act: Wagner is not disenchanted, but celebrated with a wink.
Wagner zu Dritt is a special kind of musical theater - entertaining, profound and surprisingly different. An evening for opera lovers, Wagner novices and all those who are equally enthusiastic about music and humor.
