Media Authority Hesse

Medienanstalt Hessen offers a wide range of further training courses, workshops and projects on media topics. There are knowledge-oriented offers as well as action-oriented events.

The Media Education Center South in Offenbach am Main is a central location for media education, cultural education, sustainability and creativity. As an institution of the Hessen Media Authority, it invites people to learn together and specifically promotes media skills for all age groups.

The focus is on media education concepts that are geared towards the needs and requirements of people in Hesse - always with a particular focus on sustainability.

Particular emphasis is placed on maintaining and expanding cooperation and strategic networking with partners from school and extracurricular educational work - for example youth welfare offices, the police or institutions such as daycare centers and schools.

The services on offer range from practical media projects for children and young people to leisure and educational activities, further training, advice for parents and educational materials. The aim is to promote a critical, sensitive and responsible approach to media.

A dedicated TV program on channel 393 in the digital cable network makes the results of this educational work visible. The offer is complemented by the Mediathek Hessen - the central forum for media, education and democracy. It is both a showcase and a platform for modern media education content and projects from all over Hesse.

The regional office in Giessen complements the work of the Media Education Center South in Central Hesse and is the direct point of contact for local target groups.
