• Operating a hotline for school IT officers during the above-mentioned times
• Maintaining a ticket system that allows IT officers to report and track problems
• The repair or replacement of defective hardware, provided the repair is cost-effective. If possible, defective devices can be exchanged for donated PCs
• Support and maintenance of the physical school networks
• Support and maintenance of school servers: domain controllers, application servers and other services
• Maintenance of operating systems and applications for IT devices used for teaching purposes (PCs, notebooks, tablets)
• Advice on IT investments from existing school budgets or through sponsoring associations
• Support for all projects relating to websites and learning portals
• The above support services also apply to hardware procured by sponsoring associations that has become school property!

• Maintenance of peripheral devices (e.g. printers, projectors) and replacement of consumables
• Private devices of teachers and pupils

Each school must appoint an IT representative. These are important contacts for the media center in handling IT support. Their tasks include

• Participation in the regular service meetings of the IT representatives of the State Education Authority.
• Planning the school's IT structure together with the school authority's IT officers.
• Collaboration on the school's media concept.
• Commissioning the operational school IT system and instructing the teaching staff in its use.
• Advising the teaching staff on didactic and methodological issues relating to the use of PCs in lessons.
• Support to maintain the functionality of the school's IT systems in cooperation with the support structures of the school authorities (e.g. updating programs, installing educational software, data backup). No technical support (upgrading and repairing devices, creating infrastructure, e.g. wireless LAN, maintaining the school server)
