The theme for our July Studio Special is mixed-media animation!

In an open creative workshop, we’ll look at examples of mixed-media animation together—from stop-motion to collages to cartoons—and let ourselves be inspired. Then it’s time to get creative: Whether with pen and paper or digitally on an iPad, whether you’d rather work together on a group project or do your own thing, anything goes.

This isn’t a class—just try things out, experiment, and let the others inspire you.

With exciting subjects right in front of the lens, we’ll explore the world of wildlife photography together right in the heart of the zoo. We’ll learn how to work with available light, capture the right moment, and find an effective composition. Treating the animals with respect is our top priority. You’re welcome to bring your own cameras, but we’ll also provide some.
Since this workshop takes place outdoors: don’t forget sunscreen and plenty of water!

Have you always wanted to host a news show like the pros? Or would you rather fly through the air with a superhero? Green screen technology is an integral part of our everyday media life—from news broadcasts to elaborate blockbusters. In our workshop, you’ll learn the basics of this technology and put your own ideas into practice right away. You decide what your background will be.

In this workshop, we’ll work together to create our own video podcast episode—from the initial concept through recording to the final production. We’ll show you how to quickly achieve professional results using our equipment, and you’ll be right in the thick of it from the start. So warm up your voices and come by—with or without a topic idea!

Voices, sounds, atmosphere—a great radio play is made up of many ingredients. In this two-day workshop, you’ll transform a given story from paper into a finished audio experience: We’ll record the voices and handle the entire sound design—creaking doors, footsteps on gravel, the patter of rain. We’ll record all of this ourselves and incorporate it into our production.
