Podcast studio at LET`S PLAY - Courage to participate

The Media Center is participating in LET`S PLAY - Courage to Participate with a podcast studio from the studioreif project!

Podcast studio time: Friday, 27.06.2025, 9 am - 2 pm

Location: Town hall, room 22 and foyer

You want to change something? You have a cool idea but don't know how to implement it? Are you between 14 and 21 years old? Then play mini-games against politicians in the town hall and tell them what is important to you.

You can come alone, with friends or with your school class. For school classes, please register at: buergerbeteiligungwiesbadende stating the time, group size and day. It is worth planning at least 1.5 hours on site. You are also welcome to stay longer.

Let's play will take place from 26-27.06.2025, 9-14 o'clock.

Save the Date: From August 11-15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., we are offering various workshops for 12-16-year-olds from Wiesbaden in cooperation with the Department of Social Work, wi&you: "Schöne Ferien" as part of the Youth Summer Specials. The topics this time are animal photography, animated film, film editing with DaVinci and video podcasting. The program is subject to change. Registration is via the city's vacation program.


Animal photography in the pheasantry

With exciting subjects right in front of the lens, we explore the world of animal photography together in the middle of the zoo. We learn how to work with the available light, catch the right moment and find an effective framing. The focus is on respectful treatment of the animals. You are welcome to bring your own cameras, but we will also provide some.

As this workshop takes place outside: Don't forget sun protection and plenty of water!

Animated film

In this course, we dive into the exciting world of stop-trick film. You will learn how images are set in motion using stop trick and how an entire short film is created. You will work in small teams to develop the film idea and realize it in our studio. You are welcome to bring small figures/puppets, but we will also provide material on site.

Film editing part I: Shoot your own footage!

The course can also be attended without the second part - but participation in both is recommended.

In this 2-day workshop you will learn how to think about the editing of the film material while shooting. On the first day, you can be a director, actor, scriptwriter or sound assistant. Working in small teams, you will develop a film idea and realize it in our studio. The next day you can then turn the raw material you have shot into a short film.

Film editing part II: Editing with DaVinci Resolve

The course can also be attended without the first part - however, it is recommended to attend both.

In this course you will learn the basics of the free program DaVinci Resolve. We will work with the German version of the program, which is also used in Hollywood. You will create the raw material in Part I of this 2-day workshop, we will provide computers.

On the last day of the workshop week, we will produce a video podcast together. We'll take a fast-forward look at how to create your own episode using our technology - from the concept to the recording to the finished production. So oil up your voices and come along with or without an idea for a topic!

Filmmaking with AI and computer games

Due to the age rating of the computer games used, participation is only possible from the age of 18.

Artificial intelligence, streaming platforms and computer games have become an integral part of our lives. This workshop is about finding out how these technologies can be applied to filmmaking in order to tell innovative stories that do justice to our experiences in a digitalized world.

Participants will get an overview of different AI tools and game engines and the possibilities they offer to turn their ideas into reality without a lot of money or technical expertise. The aim of the workshop is to complete a small project at the end through theoretical impulses, open experiments and mutual support.

Target group: Young people and interested parties aged 18 and over. Basic knowledge of film technology is advantageous.
