All children and young people up to and including the age of 25 are eligible to participate—whether as a group, school class, after-school project, or individual. It doesn’t matter where the projects were created: in your free time, at a media center, at daycare, at school or college, with or without supervision… anything goes!

Winners will receive cash or non-cash prizes as well as an invitation to the media festival in Dresden. The organizers promise experiences there that will amaze, engage, and allow participants to try things out, as well as the opportunity to attend the grand awards ceremony. 

Each person may submit up to three projects per competition year; institutions may submit up to five. Submission deadline: July 20, 2026

The Wiesbaden Youth Film Competition is part of exground youth days, the youth film section of the exground filmfest. Submitted films have the chance to be screened in the competition program and to win prize money. 

Who can participate?

• Young people aged 12–18
• Residence: Wiesbaden or the surrounding area
• Individual or group projects
• Film length: max. 30 minutes
• Year of production: 2025 or 2026
• Language: German or original version with German subtitles
