The state capital of Wiesbaden purchases device insurance policies for all tablets purchased as part of the 1:1 offer.

Insurance
The "Komfort 75 device protection" insurance cover from German insurer Wertgarantie SE offers the following cover:
Insured against drop and fall damage, water, improper handling, robbery and burglary, among other things
The tablet with power supply is insured, but not the case and stylus
Repair costs or replacement device of the same type and quality
Deductible for drop, fall and water damage 25%.
Direct settlement parents <> insurer without detour via school, media center or school authority
e.g. can be used via the company Reparo in Wiesbaden (Dotzheimer Str. / corner of Loreleiring); Reparo settles directly with the insurance company.
The policy runs for 3 years from purchase of the device. In the 4th year, cover is provided by an Apple Care policy, which the school board has also purchased. Parents will receive details of this as soon as the end of the insurance period is reached.

Support for students and parents
The following information only applies to iPads purchased by summer vacation 2025:
LHW has purchased a support license for every device purchased or rented as part of the 1:1 offer ("Apple Care for Education"). Parents and, of course, students can contact the official Apple support team directly. This answers questions and helps with problems such as
technical difficulties with the hardware
all questions about the iPad settings all questions about the apps provided by Apple itself on the iPad (e.g. Pages, Keynote, iMovie...)
To be able to contact support directly, all parents receive a support PIN.

Support for students and parents
The Media Center is the point of contact for students and parents. It can be contacted by telephone and via the support form. Details:
