Every school authority in Hesse is obliged by the Education Act to maintain a media center. In addition to the provision of media for modern teaching, the law also defines advice and support as tasks of a media center.

What the respective school authorities have done with their media center, however, sometimes goes in different directions. Over the years, regional focuses have often developed very successfully.

The work of the media centers is coordinated by the Hessian Teachers' Academy. Among others, the Media Education Department is responsible for this task. It is headed by Mr. Ingo Anthony, who is also the specialist supervisor.

All media centers are in constant exchange with each other with the help of modern digital working environments, in video conferences, conferences and service meetings and working groups.
