The Egert winery is located in the heart of the Rheingau. It is a quality-oriented family winery whose winemaking tradition dates back to the 18th century. Manfred Egert took over the management of the estate from his father in 1997. The vineyards extend over the villages of Mittelheim, Oestrich and Hattenheim. They are among the top vineyards in the Rheingau, where only Riesling is cultivated. According to the official classification, 85 percent of Egert's vineyards have been declared "Erstes Gewächs". The philosophy of the winery is to produce top Rheingau Riesling wines that require the strictest quality thinking both in the vineyard and in the cellar. This means selectively harvesting small quantities with a high extract content by hand, which are then matured and cared for with the latest cellar management knowledge and a love of wine in order to produce elegant, fruity Rieslings.
