About us
The Geisenheim University vineyard is a symbiosis of the three institutes of vine breeding, viticulture and oenology. While the two cultivation-oriented institutes are responsible for the care and harvesting of the approximately 23 hectares of vineyards, the Institute of Oenology is responsible for processing the grapes into wine and marketing it. The vineyards are spread across outstanding sites in the Geisenheim and Rüdesheim districts and, due to the research focus on steep-slope viticulture, also in Kaub for some years now. The focus of their activities is on research to improve and safeguard wine quality, say the Geisenheim winemakers, who also test the knowledge gained in research in practice. The many awards they have received show that this is successful.
