New blindfold model at the RMCC supplemented with a map of Wiesbaden

A new blind tactile model enriches the area between the RheinMain CongressCenter and Rheinstraße. Donated by 13 Lions Clubs and three Leo Clubs, it enables people with visual impairments to explore Wiesbaden's city center from the south.

The new blind touch model at the RheinMain CongressCenter complements the existing models in Wiesbaden's city center. It was donated by 13 Lions Clubs, three Leo Clubs and the Hessian Lions District and represents an important contribution to accessibility.

Made of gold bronze by artist Felix Brörken, the 1:650 scale model depicts the area between Friedrichstrasse, Frankfurter/Mainzer Strasse and Oranienstrasse as far as the main railway station. The approximately 181 x 123 cm city map rests on a 75 cm high concrete base, which harmonizes with the material of the RMCC surroundings and was designed to be wheelchair accessible.

The model follows on from the two existing blind-touch models in Wiesbaden, which depict the "Historic Pentagon" and the Kurhaus ensemble. The result is an extended, inclusive city map for everyone.
