Connichi cultural festival transforms Wiesbaden into a colorful stage for international pop culture
From September 5 to 7, 2025, Wiesbaden will once again be transformed into a Mecca for anime and manga fans: Connichi is coming to the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) for the third time.
Thousands of visitors in colorful and detailed costumes will liven up the city on the evening before and during the event.
The Connichi is a lively cultural festival that transforms Wiesbaden into a colorful stage for international pop culture. Thousands of guests from Germany and abroad bring energy, creativity and diversity to the city and turn Wiesbaden into a meeting place this weekend.
Christiane Hinninger, Mayor of WiesbadenFor many citizens, the Connichi offers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a fascinating world that they may not even know yet. I cordially invite everyone to let themselves be carried away by this unique atmosphere - it shows how cosmopolitan and lively Wiesbaden is.
Urs von Kellenbach, Hotel Director of the Motel One Wiesbaden and spokesperson for the Wiesbaden partner network, also emphasizes the added value that the event represents for the city:
Urs von Kellenbach, Hotel Director of the Motel One WiesbadenThe Connichi at the RMCC is an important stimulus for tourism and the local economy in Wiesbaden - hotels, restaurants and retailers benefit noticeably from the numerous guests, and the Motel One Wiesbaden is almost fully booked.
The imaginatively dressed visitors enrich the cityscape. Through their strong presence in social media, they contribute to making Wiesbaden visible as a hospitable and culturally diverse city far beyond the region.
About the Connichi
Connichi is an annual three-day anime convention organized by the Animexx association. With around 300 volunteers and a large organizational team, it is the largest volunteer-organized anime and manga event in the German-speaking world.
The manga fair has been held at the RheinMain CongressCenter since 2023. Around 38,000 people took part in the event in 2024. The term anime comes from the Japanese and stands for animated films and series. Manga is the Japanese term for comic.
Typical of anime and manga events, many participants slip into the roles of their favorite characters - with detailed costumes and authentic imitation of the characters.
Once again this year, the trade fair audience can expect a varied program: stage shows, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, competitions and film screenings. A special highlight will once again be the Japanese Matsuri festival in the RMCC loading yard, which will feature original Japanese food and traditional games in festively decorated pagoda tents.

Supplementary actions
In addition to the trade fair itself, popular activities such as the photo spot tour with the THermine light rail or cosplay shoots in the Kurhaus will attract additional attention - not only among participants, but also far beyond the city limits.
Connichi 2025 offers all visitors to the trade fair numerous additional program points spread throughout the city, such as the Connichi Party on Saturday evening in the Schlachthof Wiesbaden, slots for cosplay photo shoots on Saturday and Sunday in the rooms of the Villa Clementine and in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden. The Museum Wiesbaden also has a "goodie" for all Connichi visitors and offers reduced admission on Friday and Sunday and free admission on Saturday.
