German Wood Congress 2026
At the RheinMain CongressCenter, decision-makers from business, politics and forestry will discuss the future of one of the most important sustainable raw materials.
The German Timber Congress will take place on November 18 and 19, 2026, at the RheinMain CongressCenter in Wiesbaden. The industry gathering is organized by the German Sawmill and Timber Industry Association (Deutsche Säge- und Holzindustrie Bundesverband e. V.).
The wood industry is facing profound changes. Geopolitical developments, new trade agreements, and volatile raw material markets are increasingly influencing supply chains, investments, and security of supply. At the same time, pressure is mounting due to rising costs, regulatory requirements, and international competition.
As a traditional industry with a strong capacity for innovation, the timber industry plays a central role in climate protection, regional value creation, and the development of bio-based products. To further strengthen this potential, new strategies and clear framework conditions are needed.
The German Wood Congress 2026 will address these issues. The focus will be on the effects of global shifts on raw material markets and commodity flows, current trade policy developments, and the question of how the industry can position itself for the future. At the same time, discussions will center on how regulation and bureaucracy must be designed in a practical manner to ensure innovation, investment, and competitiveness.
