Carnival Sunday Parade
23 February 2020
As every year, the carnival parade on Shrove Sunday, organised by the Dachorganisation Wiesbadener Karneval 1950 e. V., or Dacho, the umbrella organisation of Wiesbaden's carnival clubs, will complete the street carnival in Wiesbaden. Themed "Es ist wirklich geglückt, Wiesbaden noch immer verrückt" (It's been a real success, Wiesbaden's still going crazy), the parade will set off from Elsässer Platz, on 23 February, at 1:11 pm. Featuring some 220 participating groups, the jaunty cavalcade will meander through Wiesbaden's city centre.
A wide range of carnival groups from Wiesbaden and the region, other parts of Germany and even from Switzerland will join the parade this year. Carnival marching bands, Alemannic "Guggenmusik", colour and marching guards, themed carriages, and a number of other gadgets will put spectators in the mood for carnival celebrations in the streets of the state capital of Hesse.
