Rheingau Music Festival
June to August/September 2020
The Rheingau Music Festival is one of Europe's largest music festivals, featuring more than 170 performances held in venues throughout the entire region between Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and the Middle Rhine Valley every year. Unique cultural monuments such as Kloster Eberbach abbey, Schloss Johannisberg, Schloss Vollrads, and the Wiesbaden Kurhaus as well as cosy wineries double as stages for concerts given by international star musicians in genres including classical music, jazz, cabaret, and world music.
In more than 30 years, both the Rheingau and its festival have become an attraction for music enthusiasts from across the world thanks to this unique combination of culture and nature, music, enjoyment, and joie de vivre. The 32nd Rheingau Music Festival was entirely dedicated to the guiding principle of courage. The festival programme featured pianist Daniil Trifonov as artist in residence, soprano singer Christiane Karg as focus artist, Curtis Stigers as focus jazz artist, and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen as orchestra in residence.
