Public transportation in the region
Those wishing to travel in the region without a car, can use the benefits of the RMV Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund. Germany’s largest regional transport association offers a uniform pricing system for local public transport in the 11 cities and 15 counties linked to the system. Therefore, travellers can reach their destinations within the whole Rhein-Main region with one ticket, regardless of how often they have to change buses/trains and regardless of whether they are using buses, S-Bahn (local train lines), or trains of the Deutsche Bahn AG. At most of Wiesbaden’s bus stops, and at the main train station, there are ticket vending machines which issue RMV tickets.
Travelling with Deutsche Bahn
The Deutsche Bahn AG offers high-speed trains from and to Wiesbaden. Numerous additional links are available to travellers via Frankfurt am Main and Mainz train station. A regional express train travels from Wiesbaden to Frankfurt and back again once an hour every day except Sunday. In addition, there are hourly local train lines S1, S8 and S9 between Wiesbaden and Germany’s banking metropolis.
