Dern'sches Gelände
The Dern'sches Gelände is a generously designed,
modern square with a café, the historic Marktsäule
(market column) and the old Marktbrunnen (market
well). Under the square there is the Marktkeller (market
cellar).
The name Dern'sches Gelände derives from Dr. Carl-Reinhard Dern who was chief commissioner of woods.
The Wiesbaden farmers market is held here on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
