Marianne and Tor meet by chance on a ferry bound for Oslo. They work in the same hospital, she as a competent doctor, he as a compassionate nurse. When Tor tells her that he often spends his nights on the ferry to have quick sex, Marianne wonders whether this kind of spontaneous intimacy might be an option for her too.

At the age of 17, Johanne falls head over heels in love with her teacher. She records her intense fantasies and feelings in writing so as not to forget them. When her mother and grandmother read the notes, they are initially shocked by the intimate content, but soon recognize the literary potential. As they debate whether to publish them, all three women are confronted with their own unfulfilled dreams and longings.

At this year's Berlinale 2025, OSLO STORIES: DREAMS was awarded the main prize, the Golden Bear for Best Film. It also received the FIPRESCI International Film Critics' Award and the Gilde Film Prize.

The film tells the story of two chimney sweep friends who live in monogamous, heterosexual marriages, but both find themselves in situations that challenge their views on sexuality and gender roles. One has a sexual encounter with another man without considering it an expression of homosexuality or infidelity, and subsequently discusses the experience with his wife. The other is thrown off course by a sensual dream about David Bowie.
