Guest: Myriam Hoyer with Dona Nobis Pacem
On Friday, April 3, at 5:15 pm, Wiesbaden director Myriam Hoyer will present a unique ballet experience inspired by Bach's Mass in B minor - a total work of art consisting of music and dance on the stage of the Hamburg State Opera.
Guest: Myriam Hoyer, director
After 50 years, an era at the Hamburg Ballet came to an end in 2022: legendary choreographer John Neumeier bid farewell to the Hamburg State Opera with a world premiere of Johann Sebastian Bach's Mass in B minor. For his last major premiere in December 2022, he chose a very special piece: "Dona Nobis Pacem – Give Us Peace." The message and conclusion of his tenure as artistic director of the Hamburg Ballet could not be more powerful. The result is a moving choreography in 28 episodes, inspired by Bach's Mass in B minor, which brings a total work of art combining music and dance to the stage of the Hamburg State Opera.
Wiesbaden-based director Myriam Hoyer (DIE GLASMENAGERIE) brings this unique ballet experience to the big screen. She has worked with John Neumeier and the Hamburg Ballet for several years.
