On August 23, 2025, Wiesbaden will be the stage for a special hiking event: the Mammutmarsch Rhein-Main will lead over 30, 42 or 55 kilometers through the city, nature and vineyards - with the impressive Platte Hunting Lodge as a prominent point along the way.

When hikers set off in starting groups from Wiesbaden's Bowling Green early in the morning on August 23, they are in for a special route. The Mammutmarsch Rhein-Main offers three distances - 30, 42 or 55 kilometers - and leads through forests, vineyards, past viewpoints and historical sites.

A defining section of the route: the ascent towards Jagdschloss Platte. The early classicist castle is enthroned on a hill above the town and its imposing silhouette makes it one of the most impressive passages of the day. Even though the building itself is not accessible on this day, participants can experience the location in its special atmosphere - surrounded by nature, panoramic views and architectural history.

Whether short or long, sporty or slowed down: The Mammutmarsch combines exercise with nature, challenge with pleasure - and places like the Jagdschloss Platte with very personal stage moments.
