Shooting star market 2025
The pre-Christmas period in Wiesbaden is inextricably linked with the Sternschnuppenmarkt. From 25 November to 23 December, numerous Christmas stalls, a stage program and offers for children await you on Schlossplatz and in front of the Marktkirche.
The pulsating center of the pre-Christmas season is the shooting star market on Schlossplatz: guests from near and far can expect Christmas gift ideas, Christmas decorations, leather goods, jewelry and handicrafts at 104 stalls. Culinary delights and treats are available at more than 20 food stalls. There is also children's punch, mulled wine in various flavors and delicious hot drinks.
Christmas tree
The Christmas tree in front of Wiesbaden Town Hall - the "eye-catcher" in pre-Christmas Wiesbaden par excellence - will be put up on Wednesday, November 12.
This year's Christmas tree is 25 meters high and a "common spruce" - also known as a red spruce - and comes from a garden in Weilmünster. The Christmas tree will once again be decorated with golden bows and a total of 30,000 energy-saving LED twinkling lights.
This year the tree bears the name Leon. For the last three years, the Wiesbaden tree has carried a name that corresponds to the most frequently chosen newborn name in Wiesbaden - alternating between a boy's and a girl's name.
Stage program and organ music
Visitors can look forward to a wide range of entertainment on the stage in front of the town hall: from December 1, a door of the Advent calendar will be opened daily at 5:30 pm and a varied entertainment program with international music will be offered. Organ music will be played in the Marktkirche and Advent devotions will be held.
Christmas crib
Directly in front of the Christmas tree every year is the so-called "town crib", which depicts the stable of Bethlehem.
Christmas market mug
This year, the mulled wine cup features the Staatstheater. The mugs can be purchased from the Tourist Information Office from November 25th at a price of three euros. The cups were produced in an environmentally friendly way in Europe.
