Shooting star market
Thanks to the shooting star market, Wiesbaden will once again be transformed into a real Christmas dream from November 25 to December 23. The 23rd shooting star market on Schlossplatz and in front of the Marktkirche will once again invite you to enjoy the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle with numerous sales and food stalls.
The 23rd Sternschnuppenmarkt takes place on Schlossplatz and in front of the Marktkirche from November 25 to December 23 and invites you to enjoy the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle in an atmospheric setting. The Sternschnuppenmarkt comprises more than 100 stalls, including stalls selling arts and crafts, numerous food stalls and the traditional children's carousel.
Around 20 illuminated lilies and the four illuminated gates at the entrances to the market provide the festive and atmospheric lighting for the shooting star market. There are also 20 small lilies in the pedestrian zone and 51 along Wilhelmstrasse. In addition, stars, snowflakes and fairy lights in trees provide a glittering effect. Of course, as with all lighting effects at Christmas time, environmentally friendly LED fairy lights and LED bulbs are used to illuminate the shooting star market.
Christmas crib
Directly in front of the Christmas tree every year is the so-called "city crib", which depicts the stable of Bethlehem.
