Cabaret? This way please!

Wiesbaden has a lot to offer when it comes to cabaret: from an evening of poetry to dinner theater - here is a selection of the best cabarets!

thalhaus Theater

thalhaus Theater entrance

Welcome to the thalhaus Theater (opens in a new tab) in beautiful Nerotal! A place full of culture, history, and a whole lot of passion. After the brand-new red velvet curtain is raised, you can enjoy performances by cabaret artists, comedians, musicians, actors, and magicians. The mix of well-known names and exciting newcomers makes the cabaret stage a magnet for anyone who loves lively cabaret.

The "Löwenherz" – bistro, café, and bar in one – always opens its doors an hour before the show starts. The perfect place to get in the mood for the evening with an aperitif!

Why Löwenherz? Because one of the most important companies of the Wilhelminian era was located here – the Löwenherz brothers' cloth factory, which in 1842 was one of the largest companies in Wiesbaden with 16 looms and around 100 employees, giving the district an early industrial character.

Theater kuenstlerhaus43 in the Palasthotel

View of the domed hall

The kuenstlerhaus43 (opens in a new tab) is located in the former breakfast rooms of the glamorous palace hotel. Over 240 square meters of historicism with a domed hall offer a unique atmosphere for a very special evening of theater.

The program is as creative as it is diverse: whether improv or dinner theater, classic films with a twist, or workshops—one thing is certain: the creative energy of this stage ensures surprising, interactive evenings and makes kuenstlerhaus43 an insider tip for those who love to experiment!

Every year, kuenstlerhaus43 hosts its summer festival (opens in a new tab) in the unique atmosphere of Sonnenberg Castle.

You can find out more about the exciting history of the former grand hotel in an interview with tour guide Dagmar Binder!

Velvets - Black Theater

Scene from The Little Prince

A truly magical experience awaits you at the Velvets Theater (opens in a new tab): take a black-lined stage, lay down a black carpet, and let actors dressed in black walk across it. This makes them invisible and everything takes on a life of its own: puppets, umbrellas, chairs, hats, flowers appear and disappear again—just like in a dream.

Founded in Prague in 1967 and based in Wiesbaden since 1996, the Velvets Theater stages plays and operas such as "Pinocchio," "Momo," and "The Magic Flute."

An absolute evergreen and cult piece is The Little Prince (opens in a new tab), based on the novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which celebrated its 40th stage anniversary in 2018 with more than 1,600 performances at home and abroad. A classic in a new guise – touching and poetic!

Kammerspiele Wiesbaden

View into the auditorium

The Kammerspiele Wiesbaden (opens in a new tab) is a classic example of sophisticated cabaret: it was founded in 2009 in the pretty, neo-Gothic annex of the Bergkirche by theater professionals who, after many years of professional experience, wanted to create their own production conditions that would enable personal, lively, and artistic development. The concept is to reinterpret contemporary and socially critical plays and implement them with their own ideas. In addition, many in-house productions are performed.

The cozy KammerBar is very nice, open from 7 p.m. to midnight, and offers the opportunity to chat with the ensemble. An express wish!

The Kammerspiele won the City of Wiesbaden's Culture Prize (opens in a new tab) in 2023.

Insider tip: The visit can be wonderfully combined with a pizza meal at Casa delle Olive (opens in a new tab). You can find more great pizzerias here!

Theater in the Pariser Hof

Theater in the Pariser Hof

Located in the heart of the city center, the Theater im Pariser Hof (opens in a new tab) has been a fixture on the cabaret scene for many years. Formerly known as the Pariser Hoftheater, the stage is an insider tip for anyone who loves culture away from the big venues.

The traditional, salon-like hall with its 120 seats is large enough to create real stage moments and small enough to create an intimate, personal atmosphere.

The varied program reflects the diversity of the city: from cabaret and comedy with stars of today and tomorrow to live concerts and parties, there is something for everyone!

In 2026, a big anniversary will be celebrated with a special program (opens in a new tab): 40 years of theater at the Pariser Hof!

Insider tip: Right next to the Theater im Pariser Hof is the wonderful restaurant Chez Mamie (opens in a new tab), which transports you straight to Paris with its French bistro cuisine and atmosphere, serving everything from oysters to tartare to pepper steak. Many swear by the veal kidneys in Dijon mustard sauce!
