Three friends from Clay Circle

If you’re in Wiesbaden and looking for a creative break, you should stop by Clay Circle Wiesbaden (opens in a new tab). This small pottery studio, run by three friends from Wiesbaden, offers everything related to pottery—for beginners and pros alike.

At the studio, you can learn to throw on the wheel, build ceramic pieces by hand, let your creativity run wild while working freely, or even host your own events. Pottery together, laugh, experiment, and take home a new favorite piece at the end.

Since space is limited, it’s best to book courses and dates in advance.

Linocuts & miniature worlds at Detailreich

Linocut

Detailreich (opens in a new tab) is a café in Wiesbaden where indulgence and creativity come together. Over coffee and cake, you can take a little break: by designing jewelry or shrink-wrap pendants, you can get creative on the spot—no prior experience required.

For those who want to dive deeper, Detailreich offers workshops like linocut printing or miniature building with more time and guidance.

Whether alone or with others, the focus here is on briefly letting go of everyday life, striking up conversations with one another, and heading home with something you’ve made yourself.

Pottery workshop at ILE 22

Two women making pottery

The workshops led by Sabine Wittmann at ILE 22 (opens in a new tab) are simply wonderful—and very popular, so be sure to book early! They consist of two evening sessions where you can come to the studio on your own or with friends. From 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., you’ll be making pottery together with Sabine. No prior experience is necessary!

During this time, beginners (even those with two left hands) can create two to three vessels, a cup, or a figurine; those with a bit more practice might manage a little more. After a drying period of ten to 14 days, your creations will be fired. The second session is for glazing—Sabine Wittmann has around a hundred glazes in every color and shade, matte, satin, glossy, with and without inclusions, elaborate ones with mica, but also very subtle ones. After that, the pieces are fired once more and are then ready for you to pick up or have shipped!

Barista

The KAUFMANNS Barista Basic Course (opens in a new tab) is perfect for anyone who has always wanted to know how to make a proper espresso. In about three and a half hours, you’ll learn the basics of professionally preparing espresso, cappuccino, and other coffee drinks.

We’ll answer a wide range of questions, such as: What makes a perfect espresso? What settings can I adjust when making espresso? How can I spot mistakes, and what should I do if I make one? How do I froth milk properly, and what do I need for latte art?

Of course, you’ll put this knowledge into practice right away ;-)
