The pineapple tartlet - Confiserie Kunder

Pineapple tart in front of a tree

Confiserie Kunder in Wilhelmstraße has been a family business since 1898. For over 100 years, it has been lovingly handcrafting the finest chocolates, pralines, stollen and, above all, the famous "Original Wiesbadener Ananastörtchen", which was so exclusive that Fritz Kunder had his dessert made of marzipan and pineapple patented.

At that time, many prominent guests came to Wiesbaden for a cure and the confectionery wanted to offer them something special - pineapple was hardly known and was considered particularly exotic.

Schönewetterfront - Hawaiian shirts made by hand

Christian from Schönwetterfront in front of his store

The "Schönwetterfront" label produces high-quality Hawaiian shirts with a special twist. The shirts not only bring summer, sun and a good mood into the closet, but also a piece of home. Inspired by German landscapes, traditions and moments of enjoyment, their designs combine the lifestyle of vacation with motifs from Germany.

Whether poppies, cornflowers or typical local cultural assets such as apple wine and Riesling - each motif tells its own story. And that's exactly what makes Christian Jakob's Hawaiian shirts so unique! Of course, you can also find matching T-shirts, socks and other gift ideas with lovingly designed motifs in the small store in the Dichterviertel.

Two small clay figures with eyes

Sabine Wittmann was born in Wiesbaden, grew up in Nigeria, studied architecture in Berlin and has lived and worked in many countries. She has been making pottery since she was a child - the "Iles", small clay figures that give her studio its name today.

In the charming Nerostrasse you will find her small, fine shop-gallery "ILE 22" with workshop, where she regularly exhibits works by artists and where you can book very nice and personal workshops (opens in a new tab).

Bierstadt gold

Group of young people with beer

Bierstadt Gold is the first beer to have its origins in "Bierstadt". The idea, the recipe, the company and above all the founders - they are all "Beerschter originals".

The journey began in early 2019 with the search for a brewery that was compatible with the founders' values and ideas. The goal: to produce a delicious, high-quality beer. Bottling in very small quantities, spending nights labeling every single bottle and personal delivery tours to the first customers - fortunately, only the latter is part of their daily routine today!
