Giacomo Frey - Atelier 1
Giacomo Frey, born in 1992 in L'Aquila, Italy, lives and works in Wiesbaden. He studied Fine Arts and Latin (M.Ed.) at the Mainz Academy of Fine Arts, where he developed a multimedia practice in Tamara Grcic’s sculpture class and Parastou Forouhar’s GRC class for Fine Arts. In his installations, he combines sculptural structures with real-time digital simulations, projections, and sound. Thematically, he explores architecture and the interactions between spatial perception and immaterial structures—including knowledge (and science), language, memory, and narrative. He has a particular interest in liminal states between physical and digital reality. Since 2025, he has been in teacher training at the Teacher Training College for High Schools in Wiesbaden and works together with Johanna Kiefer in Studio 1 at the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden.
