Lukas Gartiser, born in 1989 in Freiburg im Breisgau, has lived and worked in Mainz and Wiesbaden since 2011. After completing his studies at the Mainz Academy of Fine Arts and the Facultad de Bellas Artes in Granada, he moved into a studio provided by the City of Mainz at the Atelierhaus Waggonfabrik in 2019, which he left in 2025 to move to the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden. Lukas Gartiser draws his perceived environment as directly as possible. He is particularly interested in people, plants, and animals in their momentary movement and transformation. The drawings unite and merge different moments, especially the large-format roll drawings; when combined with one another and arranged standing, hanging, or lying in space, they are presented in expansive installations that can be physically experienced. 

Lukas Gartiser’s works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions and have received numerous awards.
