Titus Grab

In his art, Titus Grab sheds a prismatic light on events and circumstances, opening up new perspectives and breaking through established patterns of thought. In this year’s solo exhibition, held in conjunction with the 2024 Christa Moering Fellowship on the theme of “Perspective,” he offers insights into his current artistic practice and research, revealing what moves him and what he sets in motion.

Titus Grab simmers on multiple burners, in many pots, but certainly not on low heat. He is curiously critical, devoting himself with the necessary seriousness and empathy to historically rooted yet still relevant questions; he comments on political events with almost gallows humor, and yet, even in times of hopelessness, finds new angles on the potential of interpersonal dynamics.

For over 30 years now, Titus Grab has been energizing Wiesbaden’s Westend with sculptural or performative interventions, initiating dialogues in public spaces about street names and vacant properties, tirelessly advocating through his work for the independent art and culture scene, and throwing himself, hungry for knowledge, into research ranging from everyday realities to human medicine.

For his solo exhibition as part of the 2024 Christa Moering Fellowship, Titus Grab opens a space in which the social dimensions of art, political activism, and the intimacy of his own illness-related experiences enter into dialogue with one another—giving rise to new ways of seeing and acting.

The opening will take place on December 2, 2026, at 7 p.m.
