The title of the dual exhibition at the Kunsthaus and the Museum Wiesbaden referred to the reinterpretation of selected works from Vollrad Kutscher’s extensive body of work. This body of work is characterized by an exploration of identity, self-determination, and values. Breathing served as the starting point for the selected works.
The monumental installation "INHALE-EXHALE" consisted of 144 terracotta masks and videos that portray the actor Norbert Klassen in a unique way. It was complemented by the video installation "THE WHITE DREAM 2020," in the context of which previously unseen sketches from Vollrad Kutscher’s performance of the same name, set in nature, were shown.
In the large hall in the basement of the Museum Wiesbaden, the similarly updated, expansive video installation “ARS MUNDI 2020, Ach, Och und Aerosole" was presented; in addition, on the second floor, the museum displayed the video portrait installation with a suitcase titled "DUDOLLDU"—thus bringing things full circle—as a tribute to "EINATMEN-AUSATMEN."
