Form - Color - Freedom. 75 years of artist group50
From 13 March to 27 April 2025, the Kunsthaus presented the exhibition "Form - Color - Freedom. 75 years of artist group50".
Founded by Christa Moering—a painter, gallery owner, and honorary citizen of the state capital of Wiesbaden—and the painter Heinz-Rudi Müller, Künstlergruppe50 has been active for three-quarters of a century as an established institution, a community of interest, a creative hub, and an ever-expanding network.
For 75 years, the group has lived and breathed in and with Wiesbaden—a reason to celebrate! Under the theme “75 Years of Form, Color, Freedom,” the 17 active artists presented themselves in a group exhibition at the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden, inviting visitors to engage with them and their work, showcasing both familiar and new pieces, and looking back and forward. Here, painting met sculpture and photography met digital painting in an exciting and playful way.
With 41 works by the active artists as well as selected works by Christa Moering and Heinz-Rudi Müller, the exhibition served as both an anniversary showcase and an interim assessment. "Form – Color – Freedom. 75 Years of Künstlergruppe50" offered the opportunity to get to know Künstlergruppe50 anew, along with their current individual positions and ideas. The Kunsthaus was delighted by the lively dialogues, exciting discoveries, and new perspectives.
The exhibition was curated by Jana Dennhard.
