Fight against impunity - Argentina's military on trial
The Kunsthaus invites you to a panel discussion on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 p.m., featuring Wolfgang Kaleck, author of the book *The Fight Against Impunity: Argentina’s Military on Trial*, and Michael Alvarez Kalverkamp, office director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Buenos Aires (via live video link).

Wolfgang Kaleck is a lawyer, founder of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), and a renowned expert on Argentine history and the works of Marcelo Brodsky. His new book, *The Strength of Law vs. The Law of the Strongest*, is a defense of international law.
Michael Alvarez Kalverkamp has been the director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s new regional office in Buenos Aires for Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay since 2023. Previously the foundation’s press spokesperson in Berlin, he headed the foundation’s office in Chile from 2008 to 2014 and, from there, also oversaw the foundation’s work and partnerships in Argentina.
Marcelo Brodsky gained international recognition for his photo essay “Buena Memoria” (1997), which addresses the deportation and murder of some of his classmates and his brother Fernando Brodsky during the military dictatorship in Argentina. His class photo “La Clase” is part of the exhibition. His art forms part of the foundation for the struggle for justice in Argentina following the military dictatorship.
The event will be moderated by Monique Behr, director of the Kunsthaus.
The event is presented in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Foundation Hesse. Admission is free.
