Public guided tour of the Platte hunting lodge
The Platte Hunting Lodge, built between 1823 and 1826 by order of Duke Wilhelm of Nassau, is now a unique event location following extensive restoration work. Your guide will take you on a journey through the history of the hunting lodge on July 6 and 27.
The Platte Hunting Lodge was built between 1823 and 1826 by Friedrich Ludwig Schrumpf, who was appointed court architect to Duke Wilhelm of Nassau in 1823. The square Renaissance building from 1826, in which Tsar Alexander II, among others, once stayed, was restored as an accessible ruin from 1990 following its destruction in the Second World War and now presents itself as a unique location after several years of renovation and restoration work.
The rooms on the ground and upper floors offer space for 600 people without seating, while around 320 banquet guests can be seated on the upper floor. The combination of old architecture and new elements, such as a glass roof and a unique viewing platform, makes the castle a popular venue for business and private events and celebrations. Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH is responsible for the rental and management.
