The Nerobergbahn is Germany’s only and oldest water-ballast rack-and-pinion funicular, and has connected the Nero Valley with the Neroberg since 1888. Its historic water-ballast system remains in use today, virtually unchanged. Built during the height of industrialization, the Nerobergbahn is considered an impressive testament to the engineering of that era. For those interested in technology and history, this offers the opportunity to learn about its design, operation, and historical development right on site.

Schierstein is the gateway to the Rheingau and offers plenty to discover along the harbor road. The harbor with its yachts and excursion boats exudes Mediterranean flair. During the guided tour, you will learn exciting facts about the 160-year history of the port and explore charming alleyways and historic buildings.

On a total area of 185 hectares, the historic and picturesque estate is used for organic farming, fruit and vegetable gardening, as well as cattle and pig breeding. Baked goods, meat, sausage and cheese as well as vegetables, fruit, juices, wines, coffee, oils and much more can be purchased in the estate's own farm stores and in the "Domänenmarkt".

Guided wine hike in the wine village of Kostheim in the immediate vicinity of where the Main flows into the Rhine. The trail leads along the Kostheim Riesling Loop into the floodplain landscape of the Main and towards the vineyards of Kostheim's St. Kiliansberg. The destination is the Bacchus Speicher winery, a historic water reservoir, with a tour of the sparkling wine cellar and a three-wine tasting with a small snack.
