Breckenheim is the easternmost district of Wiesbaden and is one of the six new districts that were incorporated into the Hessian state capital on January 1, 1977.

Tradition is alive and well in Breckenheim: the water of the Pfingstborn is said to have a healing effect, which is why the "Pingsteborn" was always a sacred and special place for the old people of Breckenheim and the reason why Pentecost, the feast of the resurrection, was celebrated there.

Even today, the old residents, both male and female, drink from this water and are more or less bursting with health

The district is also known for its "Leckweje", a specialty made from pears that can only be bought here and not in any supermarket.
